“I’ll have a blue Christmas without you…”
played in my head hearing people’s stories about the unprecedented holiday season of 2020. The holidays can be hard as it is and only compounded by a pandemic and social unrest. What I needed was an easy knit with a bit of interest to rest my heart and engage my mind. I needed something, that in the end, I could throw on anytime I needed some comfort or head out to play with the kids. What I ended up with is a sweater that feels like my favorite sweatshirt infused with the love that only handknit garments have. I also wanted a sweater recipe that could work with any yarn weight using calculations from my own body measurements, desired fit, and gauge. I invite you to come on the journey with me as we navigate through this knitting process and unique historical circumstance together.

This pattern includes written instructions for fingering weight and aran weight versions. Schematic measurements and yarn requirements can be found in pattern project photos. It is recommended that you will use roughly the same amount of each color for the stripes.
