Blue Geranium Shawl
The 4th in our crochet filet flowers series! These flowers were patterned after the Johnson’s Blue Geranium. Oddly specific, I know, but I like the way the flowers work with the hummingbirds. I can just see them out in nature together. This lightweight shawl is a perfect accessory for Spring and Summer!
I love crochet filet patterns. I think my brain likes the structure of the grid. I also like the images that we are able to create using positive and negative space. If you have never done filet work before, I recommend that you watch some videos. You will need to know how to use a crochet filet chart.
You will need:
- About 875 yards of #2 cotton yarn. I used Cotton King Sultan Pastello.
- 3.25mm hook
- stitch marker
Skill Level: Intermediate
Gauge: 20 st wide and 10 rows in a 4”x4” square (double crochet)
My finished shawl is 70” across the top and 27” tall at the center point.
