DESIGN
The Blue Harvest Vest takes its inspiration from the acres of blueberries harvested annually in Canada’s Maritime provinces. The fields of ripening fruit dot the landscape throughout the summer in shades of blue and pink intermixed with green.

This vest will spruce up your casual wardrobe with colour and quickly become a “go-to” piece as the cooler temps set in. Its stand-up collar provides warmth, spacious armholes accommodate underlayers, and a handy zip opening makes for stylish wearing both inside and outdoors.

The design is based on a pattern repeat that interweaves texture and colour. A checkerboard of st st and rev st st is dotted with eyelets and colour that adorn the surface. Bobbles around the neckline and armholes pick up the blueberry theme.

CONSTRUCTION
The vest is knit on circular needles to the underarm. Back and fronts are then worked flat and seamed at the shoulders. The hem is cast on in tubular 1/1 ribbing. Armhole bands are ribbed in the round, trimmed with bobbles, and finished in tubular cast-off. The neckband is ribbed flat. A non-separating zipper is used for closure.

This tech-edited pattern includes a schematic and sizing chart, written instructions, and an easy-to-follow charted stitch pattern.
