Blue Lagoon
Blue Lagoon
Design: Camilla Ette Gotfredsen, DesignEtte.dk
In this design two different yarns are used together: one space-dyed and one solid coloured. Worked into large, loose stitches, in combination they produce a play in colours which brings to mind the Blue Lagoon in Iceland where the silica bottom oscillates in blues and greens.
Yarn: DesignEtte Shikoku, Space Dyed col. Tropical Fish 120 (150) 200 (200) g
DesignEtte Hokkaido, Raw Silk col. Sepia 120 (150) 200 (200) g
Needles: 3½ and 8 mm straight needles
Crochet hook: 3½ mm
Sizes:
Finished measurements
Bust: 96 (106) 117 (127) cm
Length: 68 (68) 70 (72) cm
Tension: 12 sts and 14 rows in stocking stitch on 8 mm needles with 1 strand of each yarn held together = 10 x 10 cm. Please note that the resulting fabric will be very stretchy, so the measurements may change somewhat in use.
The sweater is worked in one piece beginning at the lower front edge, casting on extra stitches for sleeves along the way. After casting off for the neck opening, the back is worked downwards in reverse order, ending at the lower back edge. Finally, bands of ribbing are added to the lower edges and the sleeves.
