Unlock the magic of the lunar phases with my Blue Moon Lunar Phase Scarf knitting pattern. The pattern was inspired by the next blue supermoon which will occur on 30 August 2023. You don’t need to rush to knit it by that deadline though, as the scarf is the perfect accessory to give any day a touch of celestial charm.

The scarf is worked in light worsted (8 ply/double knitting) yarn and you’ll only need one 4oz skein (100g ball) in each of three colors. The scarf is worked in knit one, purl 1 rib, and the moon motifs, therefore, look good on both sides of the fabric. If you are not familiar with working intarsia I provide a link to a YouTube video that will show you exactly how to work with different colors.

The finished scarf measures approximately 66” (167.5 cm) long and approximately 7.75” (19.5 cm) wide.

My patterns are written in plain English which makes them easy to follow whether you are a newbie knitter or you have many years of experience, but you can always message me if you have any queries about my patterns. For those who prefer working from charts, I’ve got you covered! The Blue Moon Lunar Phase Scarf pattern includes easy-to-read charts that complement the written instructions.

Thank you, and happy knitting!!
