Blue Mountain Walk
5-13-16 The pattern in the link has been corrected to include the key. My sincerest apologies for the oversight.
This pattern is simple, but it requires a knitter to know her/his stuff. In order to knit this you will need to know how to do:
• Provisional cast-on
• Picking up stitches
• Knit
• Purl
• Yarn over
• Knit 2 together
• Slip 1, Knit 1, Pass slipped stitch over
• Slip 2 together (as if to knit), Knit 1, Pass slipped Stitches over
• Knit 1 into the front and back
• Purl 2 together
• Purl 2 together through the back of the loops
• Make 1
• Crochet cast-off
• Reading lace charts
• Circular beginning
• Single crochet
• Chain one
• Crochet slip stitch
Gauge is not super important and will widely vary according to what needle you use and what weight of yarn you use. I would suggest using fingering/sock weight or lighter, but you could also use a good worsted get the same effect (although MUCH larger). My suggestion is to use a needle 2-4 sizes larger than recommended for the weight of yarn chosen.
This is a fun and quick knit (if I do say so myself). Please download it, knit it up and post lots of pretty pictures. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
The lovely yellow and teal version of this shawl (featured photo Crafting4ever) was the test knit of this pattern done by a friend of mine on the second iteration of this shawl. (That pattern to be released soon.)
