Blue Poppy Hat
The Blue Poppy Hat is part of the Tibetan Euphony collection designed by Valentina Cosciani for mYak.
A charming hat worked from the bottom up. It starts with a small brim, worked back and forth in the first colour; then the stitches are joined in the round as the work continues on a colorwork band decorated using a simple slipped-stitch pattern
Finished Measurement:
Brim circumference: 50 cm – 20”
stretches to fit head circumferences of 50 – 56 cm / 20 – 22”.
Yarn:
mYak Baby Yak Medium:
First colour (FC) – 1 skein; sample used Desert colorway
Second colour (SC) – 1 skein; sample used Midnight Blue colorway
Suggested Needles:
3.5 mm – US 4 with a 40 cm – 16” cable; a set of DPNs 3.5 mm – US 4 for crown decreases (or circular needle with an 80 cm – 32” cable for Magic Loop method).
Notions:
8 stitch markers
1 cable needle
2 decorative buttons (optional), 1.5 cm – ½” in diameter
Tapestry needle and scissors
Gauge:
20 sts and 32 rounds = 10 cm – 4” garter stitch (after blocking)
