Blue Reed Basket Weave Throw
A beautiful basket weave pattern makes this throw warm and adds beautiful texture to any room.
I made this a good, large size for a sofa or armchair, but you could make it smaller by casting on fewer stitches, and working more (or the same amount of rows). Do not work less rows because the throw will be too small, unless you are making a baby blanket). The pattern is a repeat of 6 stitches, so remember this when making a smaller or larger blanket.
Since this pattern makes a throw, gauge is not essential unless you are cautious about buying more yarn than specified, or want your throw to be about the same size as mine. You can substitute yarn, just use the gauge and needle sizing on the ball band. Multiply the number of stitches in one inch by the number of inches you want the throw to be. That will be the amount of stitches to cast on. Of course, the yarn amount will be altered if you want to make a different sized blanket. Remember, the number of stitches you cast on must be a multiple of 6.
