This hat is perfect for a snowy winter day in the mountains. Colorwork knitting adds a wonderful extra layer of warmth to to keep the wearer nice and cozy.

It is designed using two different colorways of self-striping yarn. The sample is knit from Knit Picks Felici Worsted Weight in the colorways “Beyond the Wall” for the main color and “Goth Kitty” for the contrast color. Any of your favorite self-striping worsted weight wool or wool-blend yarns would work beautifully. Using self-striping yarn makes a fun multi-colored hat with only a few ends to weave in when finished. This design could also be knit with solids or gradients as well.

Measurements: length 10½“ (27cm), circumference 20” (51 cm).

The sample was knit with approximately 54 grams (117 yards) for the main color and 31 grams (68 yards) for the contrast color.
