Bluebell bonnet
Multiple-stranded colourwork bonnet with edge frill and ties made from rows of garter stitch. Pattern includes coloured charts. Colourwork includes up to 4 different colors per line.
Pattern also includes instructions for matching colourwork
dress.
Yarn requirements: no yardage is listed, only weight:
For Main yarn; 1 oz 2-ply Shetland in blue
Yarn A: 1 oz 2-ply Shetland in green
Other colours: scraps of 2-ply Shetland in dark red, bright red, pink, and yellow.
(Jamieson & Smith 2-ply Shetland is a suggested yarn. This appears to be similar to the Jamiseon & Smith 2-ply jumper weight)
Larger sizes are made by using larger needles.
needles sizes: US 2 (3, 4)
Stitch gauge for different needles sizes:
30 st & 38 rows to 4 inches on US 2/2.75 mm needles
28 st & 36 rows to 4 inches on US 3/3.25 mm needles
26 st & 34 rows to 4 inches on US 4/3.75 mm needles (this is not the standard US 4 size, but the one specified in the book)
(or use needle size needed to need to achieve tension)
