The bluebell cow that has been crocheted for this pattern, was made using Stylecraft special double-knit in
Black, approx 60g
White, approx 200g

2.50mm
Using this weight yarn and size hook will give you a cow roughly measuring
40cm/16 inches measured from the tip of her horn to her feet,
40cm/ 16 inches from nose to tail.
30cm/12 inches from ear to ear
Useful items
Scissors
Tapestry Needle used for sewing in ends
Stitch markers
Abbreviations
All the crochet stitches used in this pattern are based on American crochet terms
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
hdc= half double
trc = treble crochet
inc= increase
dec= decrease
Sl st= slip stitch
rnd= round
If you are planning to make your cow in a heavier weight yarn, adjust your hook size accordingly. Use the smallest hook size possible for the weight of yarn that you are using. We need the stitches tight so the stuffing doesn’t show too much between stitches. I recommend making a test motif to gauge tension.
