This hat is essentially knitted as a double fabric which makes it very cosy indeed.

I teamed a rather expensive but exquisite malabrigo pure wool with a more economical Cygnet yarn. I do think the pattern works particularly well with one solid colour/one marbled or gradient yarn.

My pattern comes finished with a double layered flower on top but it can equally well be topped off with a pom-pom or curlicues. Instructions to make flower are included.

This pattern requires very little counting, very little concentration and really is a ‘mindless’ knit which works very well if you are surrounded by noise and interruptions. My very dear 98 yr old best friend who can barely see, has successfully made it, knitting by feel - that should give you confidence!
