Blueberry Hill
The area where I live has some blueberry farms that cater to families who pick their own baskets of these healthy small berries, one of my favorites. I am often reminded of a famous 1950’s song. This combination has helped me in my latest creation simply called “Blueberry Hill” Shawl.
This shawl is knit on a sideways bias in one piece to create an asymmetrical triangle with a curved top edge. There is a nice balance between garter stitch stripes and mosaic motifs on the shawl’s panels that makes it a fun project. The I-cord selvedge is worked at the same time as the body and hides the yarn when switching colors. You will also use a striped I-cord to bind off your shawl.
- The pattern is charted, with just a few set-up rows and the sequence of the pattern being written out. Detailed descriptions are included for the more unusual stitches used.
- The size of the shawl is easy to adapt according to the included customization notes.
