Introduction
This pattern contains a hat with a bluebottle flower (or cornflower) pattern with a matching cowl. The pattern is stranded, knitted in the round with the flower motive repeated all around the hat as well as the cowl. I provide here a written description and several charts, for your convenience.

Sizes
Two sizes of the hat are given: for an average head of an adult person and for a child. In contrast, the cowl is in one size only.

Yarn and yardage
I suggest to use the Buachaille yarn by Kate Davies in four contrasting colours.

Materials

• 40 cm 3.5 mm needles
• 40 cm 3.25 mm needles
• small circumference 3.5 needles or DPNs
• stitch marker, tapestry needle
