ABOUT
A compound raglan cardigan that uses yard held double to make the most of the fade. This pattern includes instructions for 2 different body length options as well as 3 different colour options: 4, 6 or 8 colours. The fingering weight is held double throughout. The fade is worked across two different fabrics: garter stitch & reverse stockinette (on the sleeves) for two complimentary fades. The button band is worked during the main fabric, no need to come back to it later!

EASE
This cardigan can fit however you like! I knit the sample to fit the intended wearer with 2 - 4 inches of positive ease. When selecting a size, I would encourage you to think about how you like things to fit your own body. If you like a closer-fitting garment, choose a Finished Chest Circumference with -2 to 0 inches of negative ease. If you like a looser-fitting garment, choose a Finished Chest Circumference with 4 or more inches of positive ease. Consider the other dimensions as well, especially upper arm circumference to target your ideal fit. Note that the cardigan is designed to button up in the front, however if you don’t intend to add buttons, you can consider a smaller size with additional negative ease with the understanding that it won’t close in the front.
