Blythe Bodice
This pattern has been written with clear instructions, and uses simple knit and purl stitches. It also has very simple button holes and a picot edge on the sleeves and bottom of the bodice.
It is knit from the top down. So it starts at the neck and is knit in one piece with the sleeves being worked on a set amount of stitches and then the body is rejoined to finish the waist.
The edges of the sleeves are knit using a knit in ‘picot’ point. There is a video link to show you how this is done if you have never attempted this before.
If you would prefer to not do the buttonholes, you could omit these and sew the buttons on, and use snap fasteners to close the back.
Ribbon is threaded through the arm bands to gather the arms to the size of the Blythe’s arm, so no tricky shaping is used.
Gauge is not really important in this knit, as it is for a doll, and if you use a lace weight yarn or crochet thread, it will not alter the fit too much.
