This colorwork cap features a smocked brim and some Baltimore and science motifs, including DNA, crabs, and the iconic Johns Hopkins Hospital dome. It’s a perfect choice for representing Hopkins at a March for Science event!
I’ve also included a blank version of the chart so that you can rep your own school or university in style.
The version shown in gray and black has a foldup brim, whereas the hat shown in tan has a thin smocked brim. Both patterns are available to download!
Materials
- 2 skeins of Patons Classic Wool yarn in contrasting colors. Use worsted weight yarn for a tighter, warmer hat or DK superwash for a lighter feel. Shown in main color (MC) black tweed Patons Classic Wool Worsted and contrasting color (CC) gray mix Patons Classic Wool Worsted.
- US size 4 (3.5 mm) 16” circular needle and set of 5 double-pointed needles, or size to obtain gauge.
- Stitch marker.
- Tapestry needle.
