Boanny Starns Cowl
Boanny Starns Cowl is a close fitting cowl, with optional top edge drawstring, designed to accompany my Boanny Starns Hat.
Buy the cowl and the matching Boanny Starns Hat and get 30% off the second pattern - add both to your cart. Previous purchases will also apply but the pattern needs to be in your Ravelry library.
It is worked bottom up and has a gentle funnel shape to allow it to flare out a little at the bottom edge - this is done by changing your needle size not with decreases.
Rather than ribbing at the top and bottom, I’ve worked a reverse stocking stitch edging which rolls gently towards the wrong side. I added a drawstring to the top edge to pull it in for a closer fit when wearing but it could be omitted.
I’ve used Drops Alpaca for softness and warmth but you could use something like merino instead.
Allow a ball of your background colour (I used approx 35g) and half a ball of your contrast colour (I used approx 24g).
