Bobble Beanie
Beanies are always a fun way for beginners to practice their crochet skills without feeling overwhelmed. Now, I know that the texture on this beanie looks daunting, but they’re really simple once you get the hang of them. There is nothing quite like the feeling of wearing something you have made, and I hope this pattern makes you feel confident and excited to learn more.
Supplies:
DK yarn
5mm hook
Needle for sewing in ends
Baby (0-6 months)(14”-16”)(36-40cm)
Small (1-3 Toddler)(16”-17”)(40-43cm)
Medium (3-10 Child)(17”-19”)(43-48cm)
Large (Teen/Adult)(20”-22”)(50-55cm)
The beanie is worked in a panel that you seam together and close at the top to finish.
You can make a larger beanie by chaining in multiples of 6. Then it’s easy to repeat the bobble and shell sections.
Bobble stitches are worked on the ‘wrong side’ so they will “pop” on the outside of your beanie.
This is an advanced beginner pattern.
Measure the head of the person you are making the beanie for to double check sizing. The sizes I have used in the pattern are general size samples.
