Join the Bobble Buster Cast-On Party and KAL

Worked from the top down, this circular yoke sweater is designed to be worn a bit oversized - it has a deep yoke that’s easy to wear over other tops, and looks nice slightly cropped. As written, sleeves are bracelet length, but easy to modify to your preferred length.

This design was Annie Paaren’s idea. Annie’s a dyer with a great sense of style, and a deep stash. She wished for a simple bobble sweater where she could play with colour, using scraps or mini skeins, but without creating a mess of strands on the wrong side of the work. Meanwhile, I’ve been playing with trying to get intarsia effects without actually having to learn intarsia techniques, and a contrast colour bobble fit this theme perfectly. So we teamed up!

Use fingering weight for your bobbles, on a DK weight stockinette base - or play with with proportion, and try using mohair, yarns held together - whatever strikes your fancy. For a preview of the easy-to-do bobble and finishing techniques visit these YouTube tutorials.

Choosing a Size: This sweater is designed to be worn with 2-6” of positive ease in the bust. Smallest sizes will work great for teens, and be sure to look at the Baby Bobble Buster pattern too.
