This pattern is currently only available as part of A Stitch In Time Volume 3 - The Colourwork Edition.

Bobby is a delightful, short-sleeved sweater pattern, featuring an all-over colourwork pattern, a high neck with back button opening and a neat fit. The original pattern The vintage version of the pattern shows this colourful sweater only in black and white but it does in fact use a total of 10 shades of fingering weight yarn.

Two options are included in the updated pattern; the first to work a shaped lower body as in the original pattern, with a nipped in waistband; the second to work a straight lower body. Both options include instructions for a choice of three lengths, short, medium or long and both options provide instructions for 10 chest sizes to fit from 30-64 inches (76-162cm).

All versions are knitted in the round with armhole steeks added.

Bobby is knitted using Susan Crawford Lock sock yarn which uses our own Lonk sheep fibre, a designated rare sheep breed. It is spun for us in nearby Yorkshire and dyed in-house by Susan and her daughter, Charlie. Ten shades are used for this beautiful sweater with Susan choosing a fresh spring-like range of shades, from the soft, sky-blue of Edy to the bold yellow tones of Sissinghurst.

Our model Charlie is shown wearing the 2nd size medium length with unshaped lower body to fit 86-92cm (34-36in) chest.

The pattern includes instructions for ten sizes to fit chest measurements between 76cm (30in) and 162cm (64in) and contains both clear written pattern directions, together with charted instructions, plus a comprehensive schematic diagram and sizing chart.

A yarn kit is also available containing all the hand-dyed Lock yarn required to knit Bobby.
