Bobby the Beaver
After a long night chewing through trees and collecting food, Bobby the beaver likes nothing more than retiring to the safety of his lodge through his secret underwater entrance. He sits just over 8 inches tall (when made with the recommended materials).
The 12 page pattern is intermediate skill level and is available in US and UK terminology – both versions will be available for you to download. It is clear to follow with detailed instructions and lots of pictures for step by step making and assembly. There are also picture instructions for colour change and invisible finish.
The following stitches/techniques are used in this pattern:
US Terminology - slip stitch, magic ring, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, increase, decrease (sc2tog and hdc2tog) colour change, invisible finish
UK Terminology - slip stitch, magic ring, double crochet, half treble, treble, increase, decrease (dc2tog and htr2tog) colour change, invisible finish
Recommended Materials:
- Yarn: I have made Bobby using Paintbox Yarns Wool Mix Aran (Aran/worsted weight yarn) - colour and weight details in pattern
- Hook: 4mm (G) crochet hook
- Stuffing: I use polyester filling
- Safety eyes: I have used 15mm plastic safety eyes, but you can embroider the eyes on if you prefer
- Yarn needle
- Pins
- (A stitch marker and row counter are useful)
