Bogue Bonnet
ABOUT
I give you the Bogue Bonnet, the ultimate autumn/winter accessory, fit to be found in the pages of a Vogue magazine. When I couldn’t find a design that ticked all my boxes, this bonnet was born. It’s flattering on all head sizes, seamless, elegant, and leaves you with minimal ends to weave in. Knit in light-as-air fingering weight mohair, the Bogue Bonnet is both cozy and stylish, offering warmth as it covers your head and ears—without interfering with makeup or a hairstyle. Ideal for using up scrap yarn, it’s a quick and satisfying project. Plus, it makes a thoughtful handmade gift!
Level of difficulty: Advanced beginner
WORKFLOW
You will start by making the back of the head. From there, you will pick up new stitches for the hood in a ‘’U-shape’’. After this you will create the ribbed edges to frame the face and the neck. The bonnet is finalized with two i-cord straps that will be tied under the chin.
SIZE
One size.
Laying flat the bonnet is 18 cm wide and 23 cm long. Note that the material allows for some stretch. The pattern is easily modified to make it wider and/or longer if desired.
