This sweater is worked top-down in the round, starting with the body. At the top there is both variation in color and texture with altering knit and purl sections as well as two Latvian braids and a little bit of stranded colorwork. When the body is finished it is blocked and armholes are created by steeking and then grafting the shoulders together creating a boat-shaped neck.
Sleeve stitches are picked up and started with German short-rows to create shaping, then they are finished with similar colorwork as the body.

A word on color selection: you will get the best result with two warm and two cold colors, all well contrasting. I would discourage using very variegated or speckled yarn.

MC 55% (Cold 1)
CC1 30% (Warm 1)
CC2 12% (Cold 2)
CC3 3% (Warm 2)
Tester yardages variated quite heavily so I would encourage taking some margins into account.

Testers rated pattern difficulty 6/10.

This sweater had a winding road to life. I made it in 2020 but gave it away too soon, so I hadn’t taken enough notes to easily write the pattern. Then in 2024 I sent it to a yarn company on a whim after a design submission call - and it got accepted. While negotiating terms I wrote the pattern, but then we didn’t find an agreement so in the end I decided to publish it myself. Since four years went by from prototype to pattern the product of this pattern will not be identical to the picture. What I know I have changed is making the armpits a little tighter and removing the brown start from the sleeve. The charts are the same though.
