I have designed this easy crochet bag using basic crochet stitches with US terminology of chains, single crochet, half double crochets and double crochet stitches so it is not complicated but still has an overall affect of looking fabulous. For UK crocheters there is a stitch conversion for you in the abbreviations.

I have designed the bag in three pieces. A front and a back section, which are identical, and a long circular piece which forms the strap. The strap wraps around both sides of the bag giving it strength and durability. For this pattern I have used a 12 ply chunky cotton/acrylic but I have also made this bag in a 10 ply cotton and it looks just as good but will be a little smaller.

MATERIALS

Crochet Hook: METRIC: Size 6mm, USA: 10/J, UK: Size 4

Yarn: I used 3 x balls of Moda Vera Elenna 100g balls of cotton/acrylic yarn for this bag (which is a 12 ply yarn). Some alternative yarns you could use are Katia Big Alabama or Grundl King Cotton. Any yarn that is a chunky 10-12 ply approximately half and half cotton and acrylic would be suited to this project. Please take into account if you are buying a 50g ball you will need 10 balls of yarn.

Overall Drop Including Handle : 62cm (This is measured with the handle knotted at the top so for a longer length just unknot or talk to me about a custom length better suited to you).

Width Of Bag: 41cm (This measurement was taken while bag was flat).

Depth Of Bag Middle: 34cm (This measurement was taken while bag was flat).
