I developed this breezy crochet hat as a way to use the single skeins of lace weight yarn I tend to fall in love with and collect.

Construction is simple, beginning as a granny square and then shifting to work in the round. Don’t stress if the shape appears a bit strange in the transitioning rows, it will take shape as you add more rows in the round.

You will need one skein of lace weight mohair yarn and a Size G crochet hook. For the optional bead work, select a string of glittery, multifaceted beads about 1/2” large in a color that will contrast nicely with your selected yarn.
