Boira hat
Boira is a two color stranded hat, designed to keep cosy the entire family.
Construction
Boira hat is knitted in the round to create a seamless piece. It has a simple and easy to follow color chart, which makes it a great project for avid knitters that are new to Fair Isle or those with some experience.
Sizes
This design is given in three sizes from child to adult:
- Child: 48 - 51 cm / 18’’ - 20’’
- Woman: 52 - 56 cm / 20 ½’’ - 22’’
- Man: 57 - 61 cm / 22 ½’’ - 24’’
Needles and notions
3.25 mm (US 3) for brim ribbing
4 mm (US 6) for body and crown
60 cm / 24’’ circular needles
Optional: a set of 4 mm (US 6) DPN for shaping the crown. Alternatively, you can use the magic loop technique.
Gauge
22 sts and 24 rounds to 10cm (4’’) stockinette stitch in the round using 4 mm (US 6) needles.
