A little background: I’ve always been fond of birds – all the birds! (it’s even in my last name!) So I have a few stray cats I put food out for every morning, and the local Blue Jays have discovered it - it seems to be one of their favorite treats! So much so, that if I dare sleep in on the weekends, they start yelling at me through my bedroom window! They have no fear and will swoop down & eat right out of the cat bowl even if the cat is a few feet away! I love watching them and some may think their screeching is annoying but to me it’s the sound of an old friend calling my name.

This pattern uses the overlay mosaic method combined with some mid row color changes & is the same size as all my other squares which are approx. 13” when using medium weight yarn & a 5mm hook - perfect for joining together into a larger project, or use individually for tote bags, pillows, place mats, etc!
