A Bolide is another term for an exceptionally bright meteor, or one that explodes in the atmosphere or is referred to as a large crater forming body. The Bolide Shawl is inspired by such a meteor, bright and shining near its end. Marled throughout by holding two strands of fingering weight yarn together with the option to knit with a single strand of DK weight yarn. The Bolide Shawl is knit in the shape of a boomerang, casting on at a point and increasing on one side every 2 rows to create an arched shape.

Designed with and for the Mass Extinction Countdown by Yarnaceous Fibers. The Bolide Shawl is perfect for using a fade in fingering weight or dk weight yarns, a single tonal or marling together full skeins in a longer fade.

Instructions include charts to track color changes, stitch counts and track repeats.

Fingering Weight Yardage ranges between 1,700 and 1,850 yards and held double. Minis used were 18 grams each with 3-6 grams remaining.

DK Weight Yardage ranges between 850 - 900 yards held single.
