Bolsa Taquilera (Taquile Island Purse)
This CHUSPA showcases pictorial motifs from Taquile Island. The edging redecilla, or net stitch, represents fishing nets that provide daily sustenance. The birds represent migrating birds and are reminders of the men that go away to seasonal work in the mines. The flowers, FLORES DE LOS SOLTEROS, represent bachelors and maidens.
