Bolster cushion case
I created this crochet cover for a bolster cushion I had at home which badly needed a restyling. The result was so good that I decided to create this pattern. I think the effect of this cushion cover is beautiful and original, thanks to the 2 “mandalas”, the simple yet impressive even moss stitch used in the main body, and the choice of colours. Hope you will have fun with it!
- This cushion cover is worked in 2 pieces: you start with one “mandala” and proceed from it working the main body of the cover in even moss stitch. About halfway through you will change colour. You will need to crochet the 2nd “mandala” separately and join it to the main body through sewing.
- Choose the colours you like for your own pillow!
- This pattern was created for a bolster cushion in the sizes indicated, but you can adjust it to your bolster cushion by simply adding or leaving out rounds in the “mandalas”, or changing yarn thickness, or using bigger or smaller hooks.
This pattern is in English and uses standard US crochet terminology and abbreviations.
Skill level: EASY
Crochet basics. Worked in rounds. Many pictures are included to clarify the various steps.
Yarn: TESSILAND Celine “S” (70% wool, 30% acrylic) colours “Rosa delicato” and “Glicine delicato”, or any other 5 ply DK, light worsted yarn in colours light pink and lilac. About 200 g. (7 oz) / 411 mt (450 yds) – a bit less than 2 skeins per colour - for 1 cover. 5 mm hook (6, H8).
