The Bon Voyage hat and mittens patterns were still on my mind, so here it is on long and warm socks!

These are toe-up socks (from the toes to the ankle). The reinforced short-row heel and gusset are fully adjustable to your instep with a few calculations explained at the beginning of this pattern. The leg finishes with a folded cuff in ribbing with a picot edge.

Each size has 4 insteps possibilities.
You can work both socks at the same time, a video tutorial is available inside the pattern.

Material

• Yarn: Fingering weight - Between 200 and 400 m according to size.

The original version was knitted with Nettle Sock by Onion Knit (70% wool, 30% cellulose), 185 m per 50 g, colorway 1006.

As an indication, for a size 23, 9 cm instep, and EU size 38, I used a total of 330 m (165 m per sock) for an 18 cm leg from the
top of the heel.

• 2 mm circular needles (or the necessary size to obtain gauge).

• A cable needle if needed.

• A few markers if needed to outline the pattern.

Sizes

Sizes are given according to the circumference of your foot on the widest spot (usually under the toes), in centimeters:

• Adult sizes: (20, 21, 22)(23, 24, 25).

If you are between two sizes, choose the bigger one, negative ease being already included.

Gauge

10 x 10 cm in stockinette in the round, washed, blocked and dry.

30 sts x 42 rows.

It’s important to respect the gauge to obtain the right size.

Le motif du bonnet et des mitaines Bon Voyage me trottait encore en tête, alors hop, le voilà sur de longues et chaudes chaussettes !

Ce sont des chaussettes toe-up (des orteils vers la cheville). Le talon renforcé en rangs raccourcis et le gousset sont entièrement adaptables à votre cou-de-pied avec quelques calculs expliqués au début de ce patron. La tige se termine par un revers doublé en côtes façon dents de chat.

Vous pouvez faire les deux chaussettes en même temps, sur le même câble, un tuto vidéo est disponible dans le patron.

Chaque taille propose 4 cous-de-pied différents.

Matériel :

• Fil : Fingering 4ply - Entre 200 et 400 m selon la taille.

La version originale a été tricotée avec la Nettle sock de Onion knit (70% laine, 30% cellulose), 185 m pour 50, coloris 1006.

À titre indicatif j’ai utilisé pour une taille 23, cou-de-pied 9 cm et pointure 38 : 330 m au total (165 m par chaussette), pour une tige de 18 cm depuis le haut du talon.

• Aiguilles circulaires 2 mm (ou la taille nécessaire pour obtenir l’échantillon).

• Une aiguille à torsades pour les croisements de mailles si besoin.

• Quelques marqueurs si besoin pour encadrer le motif.

Tailles :

Les tailles sont données en fonction de la circonférence du pied au point le plus fort, généralement juste sous les orteils, en cm :

(20, 21, 22)(23, 24, 25).

Si vous êtes entre deux tailles, choisissez la plus grande, l’aisance négative étant par défaut déjà incluse dans la gradation du modèle.

Échantillon

Pour 10 x10 cm en jersey en rond, lavé, bloqué et sec.

30 m x 42 rgs.

Il est très important de respecter cet échantillon si vous voulez obtenir la bonne taille.
