A metallic chain tube yarn, knit with different needle sizes, produces firm garter stitch cups and band for coverage and support and a fluid stockinette stitch midriff with a slinky drape. A sexy double strap adds a dash of elegance, and optional faux-fur trim completes the retro look. Dress it down with jeans or up with a velvet skirt or satin pants.

For a dress, simply continue increasing and knitting to desired length, and finish with a few rounds of garter (see variation ­notes).
