Bonfire Shell Scarf
About five years ago, I created this shell scarf pattern, and for some reason, I never bothered to write it up. When I came across it again in my projects, I knew it was time.
The first row of this pattern ingeniously incorporates the foundation chain into the first row of shells to give it the appearance of floating, unanchored. Beginning each successive row with a few slip stitches also offer the illusion of free-floating stitches.
This pattern looks lovely with a long gradient yarn, and the warm colors of this particular colorway make you feel toasty before you even put it on. How much yarn you use depends on how many shells wide you make your scarf. (I made mine 8 shells wide--nearly 8”.)
Items made from my patterns are intended for personal use, sale, or world domination--as long as I get a parking space wherever I want once the world is yours.
