Yarn:

1 skein of 100g of worsted weight wool (100g/200m) – you will have about half a skein leftover, but sometimes it takes more than 50g.

In the sample shown we used: 2 skeins of Concept Aire by Katia
(25g/150m, 35% Alpaca, 35% Mohair, 30% Polyamide)
Two yarns held together. Color 109

Needles:

• Circular needles of 4mm with a 60cm cable
• Circular needles of 4.5mm with a 60cm cable
• 4.5 mm DPNs or If you
• knit with Magic Loop: Circular needles of 4 and 4.5 mm with 100 cm cable

Other Materials:

6 markers, one of which should be different from the others to
mark the beginning of the round (BOR), and a tapestry needle.

Gauge:
In stockinette stitch 10x10cm is
16 stitches x 24 rounds

It is advisable to note down the measurements of your swatch before and after blocking to allow you to estimate the final measurements.

CONSTRUCTION:

This beret is worked bottom-up in the round. You cast on the stitches and join to work in the round, then work a few rounds of ribbing to allow the beret to adjust to the head and then change to a needle 0.5mm larger.

Then you continue working as directed by the pattern to the decreases where you can switch back to the needle you started with. The circle will get very small, so here you can continue either on DPNs or switch to a longer cable (100cm) for Magic Loop.

You continue decreasing until you have 12sts left, break yarn and
thread onto the tapestry needle. Pass the needle through all stitches, pull tight to close the hole, knot the yarn on the inside of the beret and weave in the end

Hilado:

• Agujas circulares de 4 mm con cable de 60 cm

• Juego de 5 agujas de doble punta de 4.5 mm ó
• Si tejes con Magic Loop: Agujas circulares de 4 y 4.5 mm con cable de 100 cm

Otros materiales:

6 marcadores, uno de ellos distinto de los demás para
marcar el inicio de vuelta, y aguja lanera.

Tensión:

A punto liso 10x10 cm son:

16 puntos y 24 vueltas.

CONSTRUCCIÓN:

La boina se teje de abajo hacia arriba en circular. Montamos los puntos y unimos para trabajar en circular, tejemos unas vueltas a punto de elástico para que ajuste a la cabeza y cambiamos a una aguja circular con medio punto más de grosor.

Seguimos tejiendo como nos indican las instrucciones hasta que al ir disminuyendo se nos hace imposible seguir con la aguja que hemos empezado, el círculo se hace muy pequeño. Aquí podemos seguir pasando todos los puntos a un juego de cinco agujas del mismo número o cambiar el cable a uno de 100 cm para terminar en Magic Loop.

Seguimos disminuyendo hasta que nos quedan 12 puntos, cortamos la hebra de trabajo la enhebramos en la aguja lanera, la pasamos por dichos puntos, tiramos para cerrar el agujero, anudamos por el lado del revés de la labor y entretejemos el cabo.
