Bonnor Beanie
Named for my “Connor Bonnor Bear”, this is a close-fitting beanie for guys and gals alike. Knit from the brim up, it’s a quick cold weather project in super bulky yarn. Don’t let the yarn overs fool you, this hat will keep your head toasty warm while looking pretty darn stylish at the same time.
SIZES:
Teen / Adult Small: 20” – 21” / 50.8 – 53.3 cm brim
Adult Medium: 21.5” – 22.5” / 54.6 – 57.2 cm brim
Adult Large: 22.5” – 23.5” / 57.2 – 59.7 cm brim
MATERIALS:
• Super Bulky weight yarn – Small: 36 Yds, Medium: 48 Yds, Large: 60 Yds
• Pictured samples were knit from Olive & Two Ewe Chesterton in Spirit of Freedom & Broody colorways
• Size 15 US / 10 mm 16” circular needles or dpns
GAUGE:
5 sts x 9 rounds = 2 in / 5 cm in seed stitch, unblocked.
Truly, in order to be a quick knit, the gauge process needs to be quick and easy as well, no? Since the brim is in seed stitch, the gauge is as well, and unblocked. The point being that you should be able to cast on and within a few rows, determine whether you’re on point.
