The Booklover Clutch is cast on using the Provisional Cast-on method, then the bottom is worked flat where it can be modified to increase the depth of the clutch. Once the bottom is complete, the front, back, and side gussets are worked in the round. A colorwork chart is provided for the front and back panels. After the colorwork chart is completed, the front of the clutch is bound off, and the back of the clutch is worked in a seamless, envelope-style flap with an i-cord edge to give a polished look. You may also create and add a strap (instructions not included).

The Booklover Clutch may be modified to increase depth for thicker books, as well as length and height to suit any book. Notes for how to modify the Booklover Clutch are included.

As with all colorwork, it is best to keep your floats loose, especially with cotton. Blocking is also essential for evening out any tension issues and to reach final measurements. Do not use hot water; cool water is best for cotton to ensure no shrinkage occurs
