ENGLISH

Borbolla is a symmetrical triangular shawl designed to make the most of two fingering-weight skeins in different colours. It’s simple to knit as most of the shawl is garter stitch. At regular intervals we introduce a slipped-stitch pattern and, towards the end of the shawl, a lace section.

MATERIALS
• 3.75 mm (US 5) circular needles, 80 cm / 32” long.
• 4 markers, tapestry needle, scissors

YARN
Two skeins of fingering-weight yarn (approx. 400 m per 100 g) in 2 different colours.
Colour 1 (C1): 400 m / 437 yards. I used Feliz Y Punto Seda 40 (60% merino, 40% silk), colourway Pale Tanne (blue).
Colour 2 (C2): 400 m/ 437 yards. I used Feliz y Punto Luxury (70% merino, 20% silk, 10% cashmere), colourway Wild Waters Variation (brown).

GAUGE
20 stitches and 33 rows in 10 cm / 4” in garter stitch (as knitted in this pattern – see Section 1) after blocking.

Gauge is not important for this shawl but it may affect the amount of yarn you use and the final dimensions.

ESPAÑOL

El chal Borbolla es un chal triangular simétrico diseñado para aprovechar al máximo dos madejas de grosor fingering de distintos colores. Es sencillo de tejer ya que la mayor parte del chal está formado por rayas de punto bobo. A intervalos regulares se introducen franjas con dibujos creados con puntos deslizados y, hacia el final del chal, una pequeña franja de calado.

MATERIALES
Agujas circulares de 3,75 mm y 80 cm de largo.
4 marcadores, aguja lanera, tijeras.

LANA
Dos madejas de lana grosor fingering (aprox. 400 m por 100 g) de 2 colores distintos.
Color 1 (C1): 400 m. Yo usé Feliz Y Punto Seda 40 (60% merino, 40% seda), color Pale Tanne (azul).
Color 2 (C2): 400 m. Yo usé Feliz y Punto Luxury (70% merino, 20% seda, 10% cashmere), color Wild Waters Variation (marrón).

TENSIÓN
20 puntos y 33 vueltas en 10 cm en punto bobo (según se teje en este patrón)después de bloquear.

En este chal la tensión no es importante, pero puede afectar la cantidad de lana que necesites y las medidas finales del chal.

MEDIDAS
Después de bloquear: 165 cm de ancho y 82 cm de profundidad.
