Level 2-Advanced (angle stitches)
Looking for a crochet pattern that celebrates your love of Border Collies? Look no further than this beautiful mosaic crochet blanket pattern featuring a Border Collie face! Add a touch of elegance to your home with this unique blanket or give it as a gift to the dog lover in your life!

This mosaic crochet pattern is an advanced skill level and is recommended for crocheters with experience in mosaic overlay crochet. Detailed instructions, photos, and video tutorials will guide you through each step of the project. With a little bit of patience and practice, you’ll be a pro in no time!

If you are new to angle stitches, I highly recommend trying them first with this free Heart Mug Rug pattern. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/heart-mug-rug-2 This small 7”x 7” project is a great introduction to my angle notation system and includes my full stitch key.

There is space in the design to personalize your blanket with a name. I have several alphabet fonts available that fit this space nicely (sold separately). https://www.ravelry.com/bundles/alphabets-21

Written for Mosaic Overlay Crochet, this pattern includes:
• Charts
• Written Pattern
• Detailed Instructions packet
• Stitch Key
• Photo tutorials
• Video tutorials for each type of stitch used in the pattern

Size: 40”x 49”
(160 stitches x 194 rows)
Size will vary depending on yarn weight and hook.
This calculation was based on weight 4 worsted yarn and hook size of 4 mm. Gauge: 4 stitches and 4 rows=1 inch

Yarn: This pattern is written for 2 contrasting colors. (One of my pattern testers used 3 colors and the tapestry color changing technique for the tongue and eyes. I have video tutorials on tapestry color changing - but you would have to color plan this yourself using the charts as a template if you wish to use more than 2 colors.)

Color A (Dark/design/paw prints/shadows/outline) – 890 yds
Color B (Light color/background/dog fur) –1260 yds
2” Double Border –548 yds

Note: I recommend keeping Color A your dark color and Color B your light color due to the use of the shadows in this design.

This pattern is divided into 5 sections (4 pages each) and is worked from the bottom up. I would suggest using the Knit Companion app (my personal preference as it is brilliant and saves on printer ink and paper), but I have also included layout instructions for the charts if you prefer to print out your pages. The written pattern sections correlate with the charts so they can be used together. I have also included a full chart on one page to use with the Knit Companion app.

Special thanks to Shirley Osborn and Jane Tonnellier for testing this pattern.

The instructions packet and video tutorials should answer any questions you may have. I also have a Facebook group dedicated to answering questions and building community around my patterns. Please join us!
