These socks were inspired by my friend’s dog. Islay is canistherapeutic dog and the sweetest girl who - together with her human mom - brings joy to hospices, and not only there. Everytime I see her, I realize how pure and unselfish souls dogs have and that we can only try to be deserving of them.

FInal Measurements
Length: customisable
Shin circumference: 24-26 cm (26,5-28,5 cm, 29-31 cm). Measured
right under the end of sock hem. If you’re on the higher side
of the scale, choose bigger size - the colorwork is not very flexible
due to the larger one colour sections with floats.

GAUGE
Colorwork: 33 st a 40 rnds on 10x10 cm gauge, on 3,0 mm needles,
washed and blocked
Foot: 34 st a 46 rnds on 10x10 cm gauge in pattern, on 2,25mm needles, washed and blocked

YARN CONSUMPTION
33 (42, 50) grams of fingering yarn (ideally with nylon) for the main colour (in this case white)
25 (32, 40) grams of fingering yarn (ideally with nylon) for contrast colour (in this case black)

YARN
Filcolana Arwetta (80 % merino, 20 % nylon) 205 m/ 50 grams (or any other sock yarn)
Colours on photos: 101 Natural White, 102 Black (In each size you’ll need for the pair of socks only one ball per colour.)

NEEDLES
2,25 mm for the hems, heel, toe and foot
3,0 mm for the colorwork
