Borderline
Join us Jan. 1 - Feb. 28, 2016 for a Color Packs & Stash Scraps Knit-along!
Borderline shows off your favorite gradient yarns in an attractive wide-stripe pattern. It is knit from the top down in a half-circle shape with eye-catching fringe along the border.
Knitters, please be aware that the fringe is created with a crochet hook. But it is a very simple 1 row pattern, and I include a video tutorial link in the pattern that shows how to do it, so if you’ve ever wanted to give crochet a try, this would be a great pattern to begin with! Crochet instructions are written in US terms.
The Yarn:
One “Silver Fern Gradient Set” from Miss Babs (www.missbabs.com) • 100% Merino • each 133 yd fingering-weight skein weighs 1.3 oz • 7 skeins in set, sample shawl used 6 skeins, approximately 700 yds total, the 7th color will be left over, or you could include it if you would like to modify the shawl to be larger than the size it is written as. .
Other Materials:
US Size 4 / 3.5mm circular needle
US Size D / 3mm crochet Hook
2 traveling stitch markers
yarn needle

• Knitting flat

This shawl is elegant enough to wear over a special-occasion dress, but it looks at home over a t-shirt or tank top as well. Dress it up or dress it down, it’s sure to become a new favorite!
Many, many thanks to Shelbywoo and JudyeNaz, the fabulous ladies who test knit this pattern!
