The unisex hat is knit in the round using stranded colourwork from brim to crown. The mittens are knit in the round using stranded colourwork from the cuff to the tip.

The instructions and charts are included for a hat, left and right mitten.

Hat Sizing:
Adult. Fits head approximately 21 to 24 inches.
Approximately 10” in length from cast on edge to top of crown.

Mitten Sizing:
Fits an adult hand.
8 inches around the palm.
7 inches long from the top of the cuff to the tip.
9.5 inches total length.

The size of the hat or mittens is determined by the gauge, and can be altered by changing the needle size or yarn thickness.

Going up or down a needle size or using a slightly heavier or lighter weight yarn will give you a larger or smaller hat or mittens.

Yarn:
Two skeins of untreated DK weight yarn in contrasting colours.

Main colour (MC): 245 yards, 115 grams.

Contrast colour (CC): 245 yards, 115 grams.

Hat Needles:
US #5 / 4mm 16” circular needle.
US #7 / 5mm 16” circular and double pointed needles or longer circular for magic loop.

Mitten Needles:
US #5 / 3.75mm circular needle for magic loop or double pointed needles.

Hat Gauge:
24 sts and 26 rounds / 4” in stockinette stitch with larger needle.

Mitten Gauge:
30 sts and 30 rounds / 4” in stockinette stitch.

Notions:
Stitch markers, darning needle and scrap yarn.
