Born Big Brimmed Beanie
This is a simple brimmed beanie featuring a graphic from the amazing comic book series Bitch Planet by Kelly Sue DeConnick. I designed the graph, and made it as small as possible, but it is still too large to go on a normal beanie, unless using an inset method as I describe in other patterns. So I decided to make a large, slightly brimmed beanie to accommodate the whole graph. The garment is worked using thin yarn (baby weight, somewhere in the family of fingering- dk) and a relatively small hook (4.5mm) which also gives you more stitches to work with.
My craftsmanship on the sample is not especially amazing; my color change work is rather shoddy. But I wanted to finish the project in a rush, to give to a friend, and so it is what it is… But I am happy with the pattern and design, so I a sharing it, even if my finished product isn’t amazing. You can make a better one!
