Born Great
I love this scene. Malvolio, reading Maria’s letter is so sincere in his ridiculousness, and the jokes border on too much, which is always fun:
“Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon ‘em.”
Such delights.
Skill Level: Advanced beginner— the sock includes four cables every 12th round, but other than that, it’s just knits and purls. Although not a beginning knitter’s project, this would be a good choice for someone who has finished a “vanilla” sock and wants to branch out.
Materials: Approximately 330-400 yards or 300-365 meters of sock yarn. The sock pictured are a size small and used approximately 320 yds of Barking Dog Yarns Achilles in the color “Popsicle”
Needles: US1 or 2.25mm sock needles (instructions are given for DPN or Magic Loop needles)
Tools: A cable needle, if necessary, tape measure, scissors, and tapestry needle
Sizing: Small (Medium, Large, Extra-large) sizes measure 8(9,10,11) inches or 20.3(22.9,25.4,27.9) cm in circumference. The leg height, ankle depth, and foot length are all adjustable to size and preference. The cables pull the sock’s elasticity in a small bit. If you are in doubt about size, go up rather than down.
Gauge: 8 stitches and 12 rounds per inch or 2.5cm in stockinette stitch
