Boston Toque
One of the amazing things I’ve realised about my hometown Boston, having lived in London for a while, is that it really is not an American city. All the little alleyways, the twisty turny paths that appear out of nowhere, the cobblestones that pop up in the oddest places when you least expect them…these are all bits of the Old World transported to the New.
This hat was inspired by those out-of-the-way bits of cobbled streets that you still see in downtown Boston. The textured stitch pattern, coupled with a soft inner lining creates a hat that will keep you warm and toasty even during the depths of a New England winter. And the seamless construction means that when you’re finished with the lining, you can throw on your new hat without even bothering with a blocking – just the thing for a sudden Nor’easter!

Casting on, working in the round, knit, purl, decreases (k2tog), picking up stitches for a lining.
