Bouncing off the Walls
I initially knit this hat for a friend before deciding to write it up as a pattern of my own. The lines that ricochet between the purl stitches remind me of a 90s video game.
This is a textured pattern written for standard DK weight yarn. The size is easily adjusted by adding or removing cast on stitches.
I have knit this pattern myself in three yarns, the requirements were:
Sirdar Click DK - 45g
Drops Extra Fine Merino DK - 70g
Dye Candy Superwash Merino DK - 75g
The purl stitches in the pattern means the size is flexible for most heads (although you can adjust if needed).
Needles:
3.5mm and 4mm circular needles (short cable and long cable required)
You can substitute a long cable for 4mm DPNs as this will be needed in the decrease section.
A special thank you to @thecraftybear for all of her feedback and guidance. She spotted all of my madness and frantic mistakes and I couldn’t have done it without her!
Any questions regarding the pattern please drop me a message.
