Bouquet Beanie
The Bouquet Beanie features a distinctive lace pattern creating small bouquets blooming all over. The hat can be fitted or slouchy, depending on the depth made.
The beanie is knitted top-down due to the nature of the lace pattern. The knitter should start with five/six double point needles and as the hat grows, switch to circular needles. Some knitters may feel more comfortable knitting the entire hat on circular needles using the magic loop technique or on two circular needles.
A natural wool (merino, alpaca, lamb’s wool, etc.) yarn should be used to knit up the hat, which can be blocked after knitting and will keep its shape after blocking. Due to the character of knitted lace, it might seem a small hat at first. It will grow and bloom after blocking.
The body of the hat comes in one size only due to the character of the lace. The size can be adjusted by going up or down in needle size. However, the ribbed border controls the fit of the hat, and instructions for three sizes are given.
The lace pattern is charted and written out.
