Bouquet de Fleurs baby dress and top
The Bouquet de Fleurs baby dress & top is worked top down, starting with the garter stitch neckline. The neckline is shaped using short rows and worked flat, then the work is joined in the round and an intricate lace panel is added on the front. Body and sleeves are divided, and for the dress, increases shape a widening skirt. Or, less shaping and a shorter length creates a top instead of a dress. At the bottom, the hem is worked in garter stitch to mirror the neckline edge. The short sleeves are finished with a garter stitch edge as well, and a little button or ties are added for a closure on the back, making the garment complete.
The garment is worked primarily in reverse stockinette stitch. An option is given to work the body inside out after joining the work in the round, thus reducing the amount of purling needed. In this case, the chart needs to be worked from the WS (instructions for that are included as well).
