Box Street Hat
This hat uses mosaic knitting to create the pattern. If you haven’t used mosaic knitting before it is the easiest way to add colorwork into a pattern - perfect for beginners who have gotten knit and purl down and want to add something a little more complex. Mosaic knitting is easy because it only uses one color at a time so you don’t have to juggle two working yarns at the same time. The pattern includes instructions on how to read a mosaic chart and explains the technique of mosaic knitting in general.
Although this design is meant to be a stashbuster (small amounts of 5 different colors - B/C/D/E/F) but it looks quite good with only a single contrasting color (B only), or alternating colors (B/C/B/C/B), or even with three colors (B/C/D/C/B). As written you’ll need 120y of the main color and 20y of each contrasting color.
