Boxcar Charlie
Pattern designed for the 2016 Canadian Crazy Train Sock Race.
Grab your bindle stick and get on the train with Boxcar Charlie. Communicate with other travelers via the hobo code on the sock cuffs (guide included). Designed for the adventurous beginner as well as the experienced sock knitter, Boxcar Charlie Sock pattern incorporates a combination of sock techniques: stranded colorwork on the leg, stripes for the foot, and a short row heel.
The knitting pattern instructions are clear and easy to follow. The pattern comes with instructions for three sizes: small, medium and large. Separate charts for each size take away the hassle of changing the gauge to change the size. To help the knitter, helpful web links for technique questions are included.
Techniques: knitting in the round, stranded knitting with two colors, reading a chart, short row heel, Kitchener stitch.
